Roots & Shoots Group Leaders from the state of California are invited to register now for your group to attend the 8th Annual Roots & Shoots Day of Peace Festival on Sunday, September 19, 2010 on the Santa Monica Pier.
This special day of celebration is free for all Roots & Shoots groups to attend. Group members will display their projects and be treated to a fun afternoon of live music and lots of activities including the festival’s annual Peace Dove Parade, an exciting “Passport to Peace” on-site service learning project. The Day of Peace festival is also a great time for Roots & Shoots group members to network with other young people and organizations that are working hard to make a difference!
Click the link below to register your group to attend, and reserve exhibit space to display your group’s Day of Peace Display Board showcasing all the amazing community service work your group has completed throughout the year.
All groups should create and bring their Day of Peace Display Boards in order to visually educate festival attendees about the important issues and concerns your group has identified, and the positive actions your group has taken to make a difference.
Jane Goodall Institute’s Roots & Shoots youth program is dedicated to encouraging young people and adults all across the globe to identify concerns in their communities and take action to create a better world. Roots & Shoots members develop and participate in campaigns promoting a more balanced co-existence among people, animals and the environment. For more information check out www.RootsAndShoots.org
